Mr. McCarten focuses on personal injury law representing individuals and their families when faced with challenges following a personal injury or wrongful death. Assisting with the challenges of medical care and treatment; payment of medical expenses; recovering wage and economic losses; and dealing with insurance companies are all coordinated through the law office in behalf of injured clients. With extensive trial practice experience, clients are assured that they will be fully and fairly compensated when they have suffered damages and loss do to the negligence of others.
Joining a select group of attorneys, Paul McCarten is an “A” rated lawyer by Martindale Hubbell. He is an active member in numerous professional, civic and charitable organizations. He served on the governing boards for the Minnesota Trial Lawyers Association, Minnesota State Bar Association, Minnesota Consumer Alliance and the Alexandria Area Chamber of Commerce to name a few.
In addition to his personal injury practice, Paul has maintained extensive involvement with environmental challenges facing Lake Associations and their efforts to protect the natural lake environment in the Alexandria area. His volunteer work has ranged from Youth Center development and the completion of District Court facilities, to active participation with The Heart of the Lakes United Way. He is a member of St. Mary’s Parish and a lifelong resident of Alexandria.
Education: Paul is a graduate of St. Thomas Military Academy and received his degree in Business Administration from Creighton University. He received his Law Degree from Creighton University School of Law. He joined his father John J. McCarten in the practice of law in 1976.
